Mine is hanging in a alcove space in the wall of entertainment center cabinets in our living room and my issue with my older DLP TV was the reflections coming from my wall of windows to the side and back of our seating area. With the tilting wall mount and the incredible brightness of this TV the glare is not an issue any longer. The TV automatically updated its firmware once connected to the internet and with my Harmony 900 remote my wife can now easily operate all my components: DirecTV DVR, Apple TV, Ipod, the free BluRay DVD I got with this TV, and the Wii without written instructions or a phone call to me when the grandkids want to watch a DVD.
The other thing that was great and had caused me a lot of anxiety in the past with Amazon was their delivery vendor here in the DFW area. I had quit buying from Amazon for a year because of this but when I saw that Amazon jettisoned its old shipping company and my TV was to be delivered by Pilot Freight Services that sealed the deal. Pilot called to schedule the delivery and again when in route, and they were very professional when it arrived and placed the box in my living room for the installer to unpack.
I highly recommend this TV and I noticed yesterday that BestBuy had already jacked the price back up after the Super Bowl, while it is still much lower on Amazon..”

The Vizio cost us around 3K at the time. Obviously prices and quality have come a long way since then.
The picture quality is superb. The richness of the colors are night and day compared to the Vizio. The setup of the TV was also very simple and it is significantly lighter, making it much easier for us to mount on the already installed wall mount.
We enabled Internet TV via the Samsung LinkStick. This is annoyance since it’s proprietary and costs about 3X what a regular USB wireless adapter would cost. But, other than the cost, the setup is very straight forward and while the widgets are a bit slow to load, the functionality is great. Amazon Videos work superbly in HD. This is first generation but has significant potential.
The only complaint we have is the reflection that often shows up in the frame of the TV. It is highly reflective and the smallest amount of light can cause a reflection/glare..”

So far, so good. I wasn’t happy with the default settings, so I tried to get them right, but just kept making it worse. Finally, I used the settings from G. Last’s December 17, 2009 review. Now, it’s fine (thanks for the info, G. Last). The TV this replaced was a Sony LCD rear projection. I think the picture on this set is a little better. The Sony had quite a few problems, and it was replaced under the warranty I had purchased. Needless to say, I purchased a 4-year warranty on this set.
I have a lamp behind my viewing chair, and it does reflect on the screen. As long as I watch the show, and not the reflection, it isn’t noticeable.
The sound is fine for me, as I’m not picky about that..”
